The Super NT is a new system that plays original SNES games. It's slightly larger than the recently released Super NES Classic, but it is far more capable and isn't limited to a specific game collection (like the SNES Classic). The amazing thing about this system is the technology it is engineered with: a custom field-programmable gate array (FPGA) that is built to run original SNES classic cartridges exactly the way they ran back in the day on the classic hardware. It's not an emulation, it runs 100% accurately with 'zero lag' as the official analogue site explains.

Availability & Cost

The console is available for pre-order in four different colors:

  • Super Nt - Black
  • Super Nt - Classic
  • Super Nt - SF
  • Super Nt - Transparent

All are currently out of stock with exception to the Super Nt - Black model, which is available to pre-order for $189.99. It ships with the Analogue Super Nt console, HDMI cable, USB cable, and a USB power supply. Unfortunately, it does not ship with a controller, so you'll have to buy the Bitdo SN30 separately for $39.99. All colors are currently available to purchase. You can visit their online store for availability.

Analogue says that pre-orders made before February 5th shipped on February 7th, but orders after the 5th will ship starting March 1st. If you decide to pre-order now you will be waiting a couple of weeks to receive delivery, but it will be well worth it!

The Super Nt is compatible with both original SNES cartridges, as well as Super Famicom cartridges. It's not region locked and boasts worldwide compatibility. It supports video over HDMI at 1080p, 720p, or 420p. Audio is 48KHz 16 bit, and of sends digital audio over the HDMI connection. It runs 132.5mm in length, with 166.5mm wide and 41.4mm high (to give you an idea of its actual size). The 8Bitdo SN30 Gamepad has a 20hr Battery Life and features auto sleep after 15 minutes of not being used to preserve battery life, and is virtually lag free.

It also has an SD card slot that can be used for "SD card firmware updating" to ensure you've always got the latest version and easy way to upgrade over time.

Can I use my own controller?

You can purchase a Retro Receiver on the official Analogue store, which ships with the 8Bitdo SN30 gamepad. The Retro Receiver is compatible with PS4, PS3, Wii Mote, & Wii U Pro controllers according to the website, as well as the 8Bitdo controllers.
