There's been a wealth of games ported to the PS Vita and PS TV since the release of HENkaku, the first homebrew enabler for the PSTV and PSVita. And today, we get to see what DJ Khaled would describe as "anutha' one". And this time, it's not just any old game; it's a fan game of The Legend Of Zelda franchise! The Legend of Zelda: Time To Triumph has been ported to the PSVita and PSTV via homebrew.
The fangame, which was ported by Wololo user and developer usineur, is a member of Vincent Jouillat's Zelda fangame trilogy; consisting of Oni Link's Begins (ZeldaOLB), Return of Hylian (ZeldaROTH) and this game, Time To Triumph (Zelda3T). The art style and gameplay has been curated in a style that intends to mimic that of the original SNES/GBA games, as to try and maintain consistency with the original story. If you're a huge fan of the SNES games then this is a must-try for you; and if you have no experience with the franchise, we implore you to install a homebrew SNES emulator for your Vita or PSTV and play through those classics before getting to these great fangames.
Installing the game requires downloading additional data files as well as just the ordinarily required VPK files.
To install the game:
Download the game from the GitHub link at the end of the article, along with all the additionally required data files.
Copy the VPK files to your Vita and install them via VitaShell
Extract the 'z3t.zip' data file to your computer and copy it over to 'ux0:/data'. The data file is a fairly large one, amounting to about 223MB, so make sure you have enough space on your PS Vita/PSTV.
And that's all there is to the installation. What do you guys think of this port? Will you download it? How do you feel about fan games like this one? Let us know in the comments, or post over in the forums with your thoughts.
