OnePlus just recently updated the OnePlus 5T with a new OxygenOS update. Now they have released an update for the OnePlus 5. The company has yet to unify the updates for the two phones so they are on the same page. It is unclear if they will ever do that or if that's what they are working toward with this update.

OxygenOS 4.5.15 for the OnePlus 5 does not include the camera improvement updates the OnePlus 5T got in its recent update, but it does include Android's October security updates and some bug fixes throughout the OS.

The update is being rolled out to OnePlus 5 owners incrementally. A small number of users will get the update initially, but then as time passes, OnePlus will expand the update to include more users until all the phones have been updated to the newest version.

The biggest highlight of this update is the October Android Security updates. Although it is sad to see OnePlus being so behind with their security updates on one of their flagship phones from this year, it is nice to see they are still being made available. One concern for users may be that the WiFi KRACKvulnerability was fixed in the November Security update, OnePlus claims that a previous OxygenOS update already took care of that issue.

This update contains more than just security updates though. People who have been experiencing problems with their GPS systems may have their issues fixed in this new update. There were also issues with users trying to use the Bitmoji app to share an emoji, this has been resolved in the new OxygenOS update as well. Some users were also experiencing problems with setting a customised alarm ringtone, this bug has been resolved in the update along with many other general bug fixes.
