The last major OxygenOS update that was sent out was about three weeks ago, so OxygenOS 4.7.6 for the OnePlus 5T is a welcome update. Most of the updates that have already gone out to the OnePlus 5T so far have been focused on camera and system optimizations and this update is not any different. It is still a welcome update as there are still bugs in OxygenOS that need fixing.
This update is not to be confused with the recently announced open beta for the OnePlus 5T, which allows users to flash a beta version of OxygenOS with the Android Oreo update. Read more about that here.
The previous 5T update focused on the kernel, firmware files, and a few camera updates, but OxygenOS 4.7.6 is mostly about the camera. The update has helped improve the stability of the phone's camera software, according to OnePlus, and it delivers improvements allowing for more clarity in low-light shots captured with the front-facing camera. It also improves the performance of third-party camera apps.
The camera isn't the only thing that has changed in the new OxygenOS. OnePlus also added, "assistive lighting" for the new face unlock feature, and improved the expanded screenshot feature and WiFi display. The phone has also received the Android December security bulletin.
If you haven't already received the 4.7.6 update yet, chances are you should be getting it any day now. For those that have already received the update, let us know in the comments if you see any difference in the performance of the camera.
