At the beginning of the month, the ownership of the popular app Tasker was transferred to João Dias, who is also the developer for the AutoApps suit of Tasker plugins.
Tasker is an app that helps you automate certain things on your Android device. Although Tasker can seem intimidating at first because of its complex user interface, don't let this deter you from using the app as it is a great tool. The app can make your daily life with an Android phone much easier. Automating things such as enabling and disabling your Wi-Fi based on your location to help save battery, or even playing your favorite playlist immediately after you plug in your headphones are easy to do with the app.
Dias the new developer has released a new beta, labeled Tasker Beta 5.1.3b, through the Google Play Beta Program. This makes it easy for users to hop onto the Play Store and sign up for the beta. New betas are also easier to install as you don't have to download a new APK every time, instead, it is downloaded from the Play Store.
The beta update is nothing big, in fact, it is only the developer making sure his build processes work properly as he is using a different process than the previous developer.
Tasker is available to download for $2.99 on the Play Store, but there is also a 7-day free trial if you want to try the app and see how it works.
If you would like to join the Tasker beta program, you can get it from the Play Store right here.
