Making any Android device's boot sequence look like a Pixel 2's? There's a ZIP for that.

More or less all of the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL's "exclusive features are now available on any Android device; from the launcher to Now Playing always-on music detection. And it seems the Android enthusiast community has resolved to leave no stone unturned in terms of replicating the Pixel experience, as the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL's boot animation is now available as a flashable ZIP for any Android device, courtesy of developer Rishi2906 of the XDA Developer Forums.

The boot animation is clearly catered towards AMOLED displays, in the way that it's completely dark. It showcases the 4-dot Google motif that they have been pushing since the release of the Pixel 2, and does so in a beautiful fashion, morphing between the shape of Google's iconic G, a mic icon, and the colorful Google logo. You can see it below:

Users with a custom recovery can flash this ZIP file from the XDA Developer Forums onto their devices, and once deployed, it should show the same boot animation as the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL. Do note that a custom recovery is essential to flashing plugins such as this one; it's impossible to do so without one; however, that shouldn't be a huge problem, as popular custom recoveries like TWRP are avaiable on basically any device. If you need additional guidance, we cover the method of installing TWRP in our how-to-root guide.

What do you guys think? Will you flash this onto your device? Do you like seeing tweaks like this that help make your device resemble another? Let us know over in the comments down below, or post over in the forums with your thoughts.
