A new cycle of Chromebooks is being released by Acer. The new Chromebook models are called Chromebook Spin 11, and Chromebook 11 C732 (this model is intended for educational use). On top of the Chromebooks, they announced another device: Chromebox CXI3. All three of these newly announced devices have interesting capabilities, and support Google Play. The specifications and pricing information will be laid out below.
What is the pricing?
The Chromebook Spin 11 will have a starting price of $349 in North America, and in Europe starting at €379. The Chromebook 11 C732 has a starting price of $279.99. The official Press Release from Acer says that additional specs and prices will vary by region, and suggest visiting their website for more information.
The new Chromebooks
Acer says the Chromebook Spin 11 was designed to be the sequel to the current R 11 model. It adds the latest USB-C 3.1 ports to handle data, displays, as well as charging. It also includes a microSD card slot. It has two different storage and memory configurations. For memory, you can choose between 4 or 8GB LPDDR4 RAM. Storage options are either 32GB or 64GB. The display is an 11.6" IPS, and resolution 1366x768. The Chromebook Spin 11 will be available in the United States starting March of this year. According to Acer, it will have a touchscreen display that is supported by Wacom:
The new Acer Chromebook Spin 11 (CP311-1H/CP311-1HN) fully supports Google Play and maximizes the functionality of the device's 11.6-inch touchscreen display with stylus input. The optional stylus powered by Wacom ® EMR (Electro-Magnetic Resonance) technology 2 can be used with the Chromebook to provide an excellent digital writing experience that mimics actual pen and paper.
The second Chromebook Acer is releasing is the Chromebook 11 C732. This device is targeted at the educational sector and has an IP41 rating. The display can be IPS or TN, depending on whether or not you are using the touch-enabled model. The display also has a resolution is 1366x768, identical to the Chromebook Spin 11. The Chromebook 11 C732 is also releasing to the United States starting in March 2018, at two price points: $299.99 for the touchscreen model, and $279.99 for non-touchscreen models.
Not as much information was released about the Chromebox as the Chromebooks, but we do know a few things. The processor is going to be an Apollo Lake 8th generation Intel processor. It has support for HDMI, and Ethernet port. 5 USB Type-A ports are included, as well as one USB-C.
